Goal of the course

This course aims to improve both anatomical knowledge and operative skills regarding free vascularized tissue transfer to the head and neck area. Starting microsurgery and flap raising can be daunting. By getting to know the local and regional anatomy and being shown a stepwise approach and pitfalls by experienced faculty, the participant will gain confidence to perform the procedures themselves or endeavor into new flaps that may benefit their patients.

Event description

Making us well trained and safe surgeons to the benefit of our patients. This is a hands-on course with Thiel-preserved human anatomical specimens. The aim is to improve participants ability in flap raising and reconstruction by a step wise approach. All practical sessions are preceded by detailed lectures after which each participant has the opportunity to perform all procedures themselves.

Please take note that this course consists of two focus areas. On this homepage it is possible to register for 'head and neck flap raising'. If you are interested in 'surgical access to the facial skeleton' please click on the respective link under related events.
