Goal of the seminar

This seminar aims to improve the knowledge and experience in orthognathic surgery and to develop the surgical principles on how to plan and treat the different craniofacial deformities encountered.

Seminar description

The topics of the seminar will, be taught in two main ways. Comprehensive lectures will concentrate on the understanding of the core material. Discussions will be held throughout the course to link the lecture material with the problems encountered by the course participants in their individual practice. In addition, small group discussions will be carried out using real cases where participants will be encouraged to participate fully.

Assess and diagnose jaw deformities
Discuss the treatment options and evaluate the advantages and limitations
Create a preoperative plan and analyze the outcome
Stabilize osteotomized bone segments according to AO principles
Explain the effects of surgery and hard and soft tissue changes
